Not up to running every day yet. Good group. Stormy.

Stellar. George's first time out since recovering from paralysis. My first time out since kidney stones. He and I are both tired now.

Greta
Tuesday
(7)
Everyone was mostly good. Rufus barked at someone and then gave me some trouble getting onto the leash, but then he was fine. Tuesday decided to chase a random car near the end and then made me chase her another 500m to get her on the leash, where she stayed for the remainder of the run.
morning run:
Alice
Lucy
Ginger
Chester
Maggie
Eve
Frijolita

Not another living soul in the monte, or so it seemed. A couple scattered flamingos. It was cold.
evening s/k duty:
Zasu
(1)
Maldi came along as well, as we didn't go far. Cold, windy, and yet there were tons of mosquitoes.
truck dog:
April
(1)
Very good. Followed me into the pharmacy, the market and Fernanda's and was the best she's been.
evening s/k duty:

morning run:
Archie
Frankie
Truman
Posey
Osita
Blue
(6)
Stellar. Frankie was on the (newly made and excellent) leash the whole way, because she needs the discipline, and she did well. Posey tried to chase a lone flamingo when we were almost home, but other than that everyone was good. Chilly out still.
truck dog:
April
(1)
Was very good. Should go more often, it's good for her.
s/k duty:
Zasu
(1)
Sort of. It was cold.
late morning run:
Gracie
Bette
Ernie
Rufus
Godzilla
Gowron
(6)
Gowron is an inspiration. We ended up going the full 10k, in the middle of a storm. The first 300m on the beach into the teeth of the wind was indescribably tough. They were all angels.
morning run:

Bugs are terrible. A few flamingos, but not many.
late morning run:
Alice
Lucy
Ginger
Shirley
Henry
(5)
All in the monte. No flamingos.
evening s/k duty:
Zasu
(1)
Quickie. Chilly, and yet there are still bugs.
morning run:
Gracie
Bette
Chester
Ernie
Truman
Posey
Gowron

Longest one in a while. No flamingos anywhere, even out at the ria, which was surprising because it was cold and they usually huddle by the shores out there. Worked a lot with them on the leash and on commands during long stretches. Everyone was good, and now they are hopefully tired.
rehab swim:
George
(1)
Six laps in style, he was tired so we quit. Walking much more on land on his own now.
afternoon run:
Otto
Osita
Rufus
Ziggy (bowed out)
(4)
Ziggy started with us but had a strange limp in one of his back legs, so we circled around, dropped him off and took off again. Otto was a bit of a jerk, but otherwise very good.
evening s/k duty:
Zasu
(1)
She really wanted to go for a short one so we did after putting a little food out for the strays.
morning run:
Eve
Henry
(2)
Decided to do something different and took just these two on a longish run in the monte (no playa), partly to check out what was going on in the monte with no risk of getting into trouble and partly for the hell of it. No flamingos anywhere. Nor goats. Nor humans. Just us, some birds and a whole lot of nothing. Chilly.
rehab swim:
George
Ziggy
(2)
George is walking around so much now on dry land that I didn't want to push it swimming, so we did six laps and he was tired and we stopped. Ziggy was a pain in the ass.
rehab swim:
George
(1)
It was comically rough, so much so that when that first wave hit us and went over our heads George decided perhaps I had lost my marbles and tried to get away from me (or back to shore, take your pick). We did 2 laps just out of sheer cussedness, but it was clearly too rough to continue. Still, George was a trooper. He's getting up and walking much more on his own now.
morning run (aborted):
Gracie
Chester
Shirley
Frankie
Archie
Ernie
Rita
Blue

Huge herd of goats at the shrimpery. Total chaos resulting in the complete abandonment of the chain of command. Roni had to run out into the monte in her PJs to help administer stern disciplinary measures and separate the pack from the herd. Will have to track down the owners of those goats and have a few words with them.
goat patrol:
Zasu
(1)
Went back to the shrimpery to see if one of the victims of the early morning pachanga needed help; she did, having fallen down a small stairway to nowhere (literally). We then suffered various hijinks and shenanigans attempting to shepherd the lone goatling back to her herd, with only mixed success.
