(8)

Strange group with Floyd, but it turned out well. We went south across the land bridge, which is basically passable now but for a couple spots where the water is over ankle depth, then south and into the monte the usual way. We went further south than normal, and back north on the road to no-man's land, but took the western fork and got back on the palapa road; this probably added ~1km more to our route than the normal southern way, so it was definitely more than 10k (haven't had time to look on google earth). We came home via the Au Soleil Couchant road, but instead of heading straight all the way we took the greenway west to find the place that Roni and I were walking yesterday. It turns out there is a tiny land-bridge across the charco there, a bit squishy in parts but still serviceable. Once across it was a little bit of off-roading to find the trail, but we did find it complete with our tracks from yesterday. It's really beautiful and untouched over there, and everyone had fun sniffing their pack-mates' tracks. Everyone was good, and yet again Ginger had a blast on a long one with much younger dogs.
