Southern charcos, short version: ~7k. Same route as the others recently, taking the main land bridge out to the middle road north through the southern charcos and home via the alt. land bridge. Everyone was off the leash the whole way until the shrimpery at the end where I put Tori on to keep us together on the final trail home; we all crossed the road together and everyone stayed together well. PupG swam in every single puddle she could possibly jam her tiny, psychotic little frame into, no matter how muddy or disgusting (nothing's disgusting to a dog after all). Luckily for all of us there were plenty of deep charcos with mostly fresh water in them the whole way so she was reasonable clean by the time we got home. Ernie was frequently in the lead; amazingly he doesn't appear to have any kind of limp now hours afterwards, which is encouraging. I wanted to get more of the tribe out but it was impossible - they're all acting like idiots lately and I only seem to be able to get one or two out at a time... even that was difficult today but somehow I corralled Steve early enough to get him out; once on the road he was great and had a blast. The mist was still clinging to the charcos when we left and we could see clusters of bright pink flamingos in the charcos all around us obscured to varying degrees; the bugs were only noticeable in spots.
