To the beach at Au Soleil Couchant via the swimming hole: ~7k. More or less the same route as last time. We left a little bit earlier than we have been so it wasn't quite as hideously hot. The monte is drying out a tiny bit in the absence of rain but it's still plenty flooded and buggy. I had Ernie on the hook just across the alternate land bridge on the way out because he was way too far ahead; he was really worked up and crazed to go when we left and it took him a couple kilometers to get it out of his system. Other than that everyone was perfect. We passed salt workers eating their breakfasts, trucks, people pushing bikes, and nobody so much as sniffed at them. Everyone had a good time on the beach and kept a good pace.
