George

He was one of the first wild/stray dogs we took in from the monte around us. He, Gracie and Chester were "the others" for a while... until we got to know them. George was the first to come in after Gracie showed him it was okay. Chester's naturally suspicious nature had him hanging around outside the fence a good deal longer, so George warmed the couch for him until he got his head straight. George survived heartworm, temporary paralysis and ehrliciosis and was good natured through it all. He could put the smack down on an uppity puppy once in a while but he was never mean; he did like to give the what-for to the cats, but who can blame him? He was Good King George to us, worshiped by every puppy that ever came here and loved by us all. He was on intravenous antibiotics and fluids but it wasn't enough and we lost him. We will always miss him and love him.
