To the swimming hole the long way: ~7k (perhaps close to 8k). We ran into three bird-trappers at the shrimpery on the way out; they had not broken in and were just standing around but we've had a couple people pull the fence up or cut it to get in so I made sure to get a good look at them. The dogs didn't bark at them or pay them any attention. I decided to take us out over the land bridge to get a look at their bikes, which they had left down the road that way a bit. We turned north and took the ridge to the cut-over to the intersection to the swimming hole. The humidity was already unreal and it was starting to get hot so I gave out a lot of water on the way. We came home via the Au Soleil Couchant road the normal way. There were large groups of salt workers along the way and everyone was really good about it. I put Hazel on the leash just east of the intersection to keep her from going back for sloppy seconds in the trash left by some of those salt workers but I let her off quickly. She was on again near the end as well and was an angel on and off the leash - no barking at people, listened reasonably well. Alice and George kept up and everyone had a good time.
